The three-day international forum focuses on global economic development, cooperation, and innovation
The 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025) has entered its second day, gathering representatives from 137 countries and territories, including world leaders, major corporations, international organizations, and policy experts.
This year's theme, 'Common Values - the Basis for Growth in a Multipolar World', sets the stage for high-level discussions on global economic challenges, sustainable growth, and new cooperation models amid ongoing geopolitical shifts.
The agenda features roughly 150 sessions across five core tracks: World Economy: New Platform for Global Growth, Russian Economy: New Quality of Growth, Man in a New World, Living Environment, and Technology: Striving for Leadership.
On Wednesday, Russian regions and corporations showcased major innovations, while a number of deals were signed with foreign partners in sectors such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, cybersecurity, and film. Although no official figure has been announced, the organizers estimate that SPIEF 2025 will generate contracts worth 7.5 trillion rubles ($95 billion) - a 20% rise over last year.
Panel sessions on day one focused on key economic issues, including a Russian-Indian dialogue on small and medium-sized businesses. Delegations from Cuba, Brazil, and Thailand also held bilateral meetings with Russian officials and entrepreneurs.
