PARIS, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Friday with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.56 percent, or 31.39 points, to close at 5,598.18 points.
A total of 31 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
French multinational rolling stock manufacturer Alstom SA advanced 4.08 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French company that produces alcoholic beverages Pernod Ricard rose 2.34 percent and French payment and transactional services company Worldline gained 2.11 percent.
French high fashion luxury goods manufacturer Hermes International S.A. lost 0.31 percent. French multinational advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe edged down 0.29 percent. French multinational insurance firm AXA went down by 0.28 percent.
